Residency and Registration General Information
The Madison Board of Education has adopted a policy which provides for a two-step procedure for enrolling incoming students.

  1. First step in the process is proving residency which is to be done at the Board of Education Office (359 Woodland Road).
Please bring the required district forms, along with your most current proofs of residency to the best of your ability, listing the Madison address, including but not limited to:
-Valid NJ Driver's License or Morris County or NJ State ID
-Deed or mortgage or closing statement
-Lease, with expiration date and canceled rent check
-Owner/Landlord affidavit
-Two or three recent proofs of residency: utility bills from different vendors, such as PSE&G, Cell phone bill, water/electric bill (counts as only one because Borough of Madison is the supplier), NJ vehicle registration, NJ voter registration, bank statements, credit card bills
NOTE: Proofs of residency address must match the valid ID provided. If dad's name on proofs, then dad must provide valid ID, if mom's name on proofs, then mom must provide valid ID

  1. The second step is to register your child for school at the school they will be attending.

Please contact Kathy or Tonya at the Board Office to set up an appointment for proving residency. She can be reached at 973-593-3100 ext. 3102.
BOTH residency AND registration forms need to be completed when a child enters the district -- even if there are siblings already enrolled.
If you move within the Madison School District, you will also need to prove residency.
