Business and Technology Education Department

The goal of the Business and Technology department is to provide students with valuable knowledge and skills requisite for success in these fields.  In addition, students are exposed to a wide variety of subjects that enable them to broaden their horizons as well as engage in exciting educational opportunities.

We will be expanding the courses available in both business and technology in the coming years in an effort to meet the changing needs of our student body.

Our new courses for the 2008-2009 school year include:

MULTIMEDIA II: DIGITAL ANIMATION
  • Digital animation will pick up where multimedia leaves off as students will be exposed to software programs capable of rendering computer generated images and short films like those popularized by Hollywood production companies.
COMPUTER APPLICATIONS

In addition, the Business and Technology department offers a wide variety of course offerings that have proven to be both challenging and worthwhile.

  • Digital Animation is the new name for Desktop Publishing.  In this class students use Mac based software to create a myriad of projects ranging from ad campaigns to business cards.
  • Personal Finance addresses basic financial skills needed by everyone responsible for their own or a family’s finance.
  • Cooperative Education is a supervised part-time work experience, useful for those entering the workforce after high school or college-bound students who want to gain meaningful work experience.
  • T.V. Studio is a project based class where students are exposed to the equipment necessary for the creation, direction and production of television programming.
  • Video Production affords students the opportunity to familiarize themselves with digital editing software while they work collaboratively to create short films.

  • Home Technology gives students practical knowledge about home repair
