{welcome}
Welcome to Mrs. Dostie's Web Page
Grade 7 Pre-Algebra and Pre-Algebra Honors
Room 205
Classroom Procedures:
{desk} Be prepared before coming to class. Make sure you have everything you need. Please enter the room quietly and find your seat. Open your book and notebook to the homework page assigned from the previous night. Open your Agenda Pad and write down the homework for the day. The teacher will go around and check your homework. In the meantime, after writing in your Agenda Pad, solve the "Do Now" on a new page of your notebook (unless a worksheet is given). Always put the correct heading and date on your work.
In class, students will explore math concepts using manipulatives as much as possible. They will primarily work in groups of two or more. Students are encouraged to think critically about how to solve mathematical problems. They are to represent, communicate, reason, and connect mathematical ideas when solving problems. At the end of each lesson, the class will discuss findings and summarize. Homework assigned for the night will also be briefly covered for questioning.
Students must adhere to the school rules as stated in the student handbook.
Homework Policy:
{hmwrk} Homework may be turned in a day late for partial credit. Repeat offenders will lose this privilege. See teacher for missing work if absent. It is the student's responsibility to find out what work was missed. Work may be made up the same number of days the student was absent. Check teacher's website for previous and current assignments. You may also email your teacher or a classmate for updates. Quizzes and tests need to be signed by a parent or guardian.
Dostie Dollars: {100 dollar bill}
You will earn a Dostie Dollar by:
- Solving an Extra Credit question
- Receiving 90 percent or above on a quiz or test
Ten Dostie Dollars may be traded in for a homework pass.
- Homework passes may not be used for homework assigned to
study for a quiz, test, or exam.
- The use of a homework pass should be planned in advance,
not the day the homework assignment is due.
