• Dear MJS Families,

My own children were very excited about our first snowfall and I hope your children are enjoyed the snow as well. This week, we recognized our November Leaders of the Month. The Leaders of the Month designation recognizes students for their leadership when it comes to their habits inside the classroom. Our November Leaders of the Month can be found here. Thank you to the students and families who bought items from our Book Fair this week. The Fair will be open 6:30-7:30 PM tonight. Items can be bought online here. Thank you to Mrs. Bessin and the PTO for organizing the Fair.

It was also great to see our students’ talents showcased through the TREPS Marketplace. The Marketplace is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop and refine their entrepreneurship skills. Congratulations to the students who participated in the Marketplace and special thanks to Mrs. Siso for organizing the event and working with the students on their projects throughout the first marking period.

Next week, we will continue to showcase students’ talents through our music program as our Chorus and Orchestra concert will be held on December 11. The orchestra concert begins at 6:30 PM while the chorus will perform at 7:45 PM.

Families can find information on purchasing yearbooks on the website. Yearbooks ordered on or before December 31 are $40 each. Yearbooks ordered on or after January 1 are $45. Instructions for ordering online can be found here. Purchasing an ad can be found here.

We are currently accepting applications for Unified Sports. Unified Sports is an inclusive program which combines individuals with intellectual disabilities (athletes) and individuals without intellectual disabilities (partners) on sports teams for training and competition. Athletes and partners compete alongside one another, each in a meaningful and integral role on the Unified Sports team. Applications are due by December 17. Applications for students new to the program can be found here. Students who were in the program last year do not need to reapply and need to email Mrs. Siso letting her know they would like to continue. Please contact Mrs. Siso with any questions.

Next week’s students’ announcements are available here. For information regarding PTO activities, please click here. Going forward, please keep the following dates in mind:
