Ms. Madison Berry
Madison Berry is excited to become the new Art Teacher at Madison High School. She is eager to start her new position, teaching students to explore their own creativity, building knowledge through practice. Madison has dedicated her life to the process of creating art and teaching others the benefits of expression.
After graduating from SUNY New Paltz in New Paltz, New York with a Bachelor’s in Arts Education, she received her Master’s in Arts & Cultural Management from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. Before she came to Madison Public Schools, she was an Art Teacher at Teaneck Public Schools in Teaneck, New Jersey for six years expanded the Arts program, developing a multicultural Arts curriculum as well as organizing field trips and school visits with the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Guggenheim Museum. When she is not in school you can find her in town at Madison Mud Clay Studio, where she has been teaching children and adults and creating her own work for over four years.
She devotes herself to Arts Education and in 2011 she won the Art Educator Award from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation in Washington, D.C. as well as participated in the 2017 SUNY-New Paltz Women’s Leadership Summit. She has implemented art programs at the Morris County Youth Shelter, Peter Ho Memorial HIV/AIDS Clinic in Newark, New Jersey, and Jersey Battered Women’s Shelter.
When Madison has free time away from the studio and classroom, she loves spending time outdoors and finding inspiration from nature with her fiancée Michael and her puppy Bromley. She loves hiking along the Appalachian Trail, skiing in Vermont, and spending time with her loving family in Huletts Landing on Lake George.
