We had a short week but one packed with excitement! Congratulations to our participating fourth and fifth graders on their amazing performance in Lion King Kids. A HUGE thank you to Mr. Dan Malloy and Mrs. Tina Smith for their tireless efforts to bring this production to life. We were also treated to visit from the Harlem Wizards today. Don't miss their game on April 26th at Madison High School. Please see the attachment for more details!
A little snow is in the forecast for the weekend, but I'm hopeful the milder temperatures predicted for next week will provide enough melt to have sufficient space for outdoor recess. Boots are recommended for outdoor use until the snow is gone and the fields are dry!
The second trimester came to a close on March 14th. Report cards will be released in Genesis on Friday, March 24th at 3:00 P.M.
Thank you for your support of the district wide and town wide initiative, Paint the Town Yellow. MHS appreciates your help in reaching the goal of selling 150 t-shirts in all five schools. All faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to wear yellow on Monday, March 20th to support Paint the Town Yellow. Monday is the official kick off and our school district is continuing the awareness through June!
The PTO Science Fair is coming up next week! Join us on Wednesday, March 22nd from 6:30 - 8:30 P.M. in the Jaguar Jungle to view students' completed projects. All students will have the opportunity to see the projects on Thursday, March 23rd during the school day.
Don't forget! Thursday, March 23rd is a delayed opening. School begins at 10:30 A.M. Lunch will be served. If you child does NOT participate in the KWRAP program, please be advised that AM Kindergarten is 10:30 A.M. - 12:40 P.M and PM Kindergarten is 1:25 - 3:15 P.M.Attention 2nd graders through 4th graders, Story Pirates Submissions are due March March 23rd! The week of March 27th
, in Physical Education, Mr. Gerenstein's classes will partake in Jump Rope for Heart. Jump Rope for Heart is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. Between now and a week after the event, students can help raise money for the American Heart Association by going to heart.org/jump
or using the pamphlet that will be going home with the students. One of the two PE classes the week March 27th
will be dedicated to heart healthy activities and jumping rope. Students do not
need to raise funds in order to participate in Jump Rope for Heart. Fundraising is completely optional and everyone will participate in this heart healthy event!
