    It seems that April showers are upon us a day early!  We're going to brighten up our day on Monday and Light it up Blue!  All students and staff are encouraged to wear blue in honor of Autism awareness month. 

    Great news!  Coach Marty Sobin from Jersey Chess will be offering a spring session of Chess Club here at Torey J.  Please review the attachment for more information regarding registration.  Previous experience or prior enrollment is not necessary. 

    Sustainable Madison is once again spearheading its annual shoe drive this spring.  All the schools in the district have been invited to participate and it will be held April 17-30th.  Please see the attachment for more information.

    Board of Education Meeting:  Tuesday, April 4th, 7:30 P.M., MHS Media Center

    Spring Break, School Closed:  4/10 - 4/14.  School reopens Monday, April 17th

    PARCC Testing:  4/19 - 4/27, please refer to attached schedule, all testing takes place in the morning.

    Early Dismissal, Parent Teacher Conferences:  April 24th and 25th, Dismissal at 12:45 P.M. Pizza will be served if pre-ordered through PTO.  AM Kindergarten classes are from 8:40 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.  PM Kindergarten classes are from 10:40 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

    MEF Announcement:

    Exciting News from Madison Education Foundation! Hello Madison! It’s time to throw on those running shoes and start training because online registration is now OPEN for the 14th Annual Madison 5K run on Sunday May 7th at 10:00 am at Madison High School. Click www.mefnj.org to register -- The Madison Education Foundation awarded over $90,000 in enrichment grants last year -- so don't wait-- register today! 

    PTO Announcements:

    A HUGE thank you to Rebecca McNanny, Sarah Smith, Anila Fung-Wu and Michele Schmutz, for another successful Science Fair! 

    Grants: We recently approved two grants.  First, a calming corners grant for $1,200.  The tools and equipment that were purchased by the PTO provide a sensory based approach to facilitate a grounding effect for students that need a “brain break” to reduce anxiety and facilitate attention in order to maximize a student’s ability to learn. Second, a grant in the amount of $350 for a 4th grade historical speaker.
