    What a great way to end the week, with plenty of sunshine and the conclusion of PARCC testing.  Make-up sessions will begin on Monday and continue until completed.

    There is still time left to nominate a Teacher of the Year at Torey J.  Honor an educator that has made a difference in your child's life at TJS!  See the attached form for guidelines.   

    Attention 5th grade parents!  Please read the attached letter from Diane Schulthes, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, regarding "More than Madison," the culminating research project for our elementary students.

    Consider trying a new lunch option!  On Monday, the Pomptonian will be providing sushi in the cafeteria.

    May is Asthma Awareness Month. Please see the related attachment from Mrs. Crescas.

    PTO Book Swap:  Tuesday, May 2nd and Wednesday May 3rd from 3:15 - 4:30 P.M., Jaguar Jungle

    Delayed Opening:  Thursday, May 4th, School begins at 10:30 A.M., lunch will be served

    School Closed, Memorial Day Break:  Friday, 5/26 - Monday, 5/29

    PTO Updates:

    Book Swap:  We are collecting gently used book donations (appropriate for grades K–5.)  Please send into school with your child, and your child’s teacher will take the books to the main office.  If the books are too heavy for your child to carry, we ask that you please drop them off directly to the main office. There is a Book Swap Drop-Off box.
    Books can be sent in/dropped off through Monday, May 1st. We will only be accepting books (no videos, CDs, or electronic games, please).

    All TJS teachers will have the opportunity to take first and last pass at these donated books so that they can be used in their classrooms.  Books left over after the Book Swap event will be donated.  We will need volunteers to help set up on Monday 5/1 after school for about an hour.  If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to help with this event, please contact Amanda McLoughlin (akmcloughlin@gmail.com) or Melanie O'Hara (oreemf@gmail.com)

    Shoe Drive:  Between April  17 - May 5, 2017, TJS will be participating in a district-wide shoe drive sponsored by the Madison Environmental Commission.  The PTO will receive a donation based on the total amount of shoes donated.  The Collection Box is located in the TJS office.
    Children, mens and ladies shoes, sneakers, cleats and boots will be accepted.  Please put a rubber-band around each pair of shoes or place in a bag.  Thank you in advance for your donation.
