The mural project wrapped up this week and it's beautiful!  Thank you to the PTO, MEF, Caren Frost Olmsted, and the many parent volunteers who supported this project. I am indebted to Ayslinn Picarello, who was present every day during the mural project, coordinated volunteers, painted her heart out, and kept the project going, even during times the artist wasn't here.  THANK YOU!!

Everyone is invited to attend our annual Curriculum Night on Thursday, April 19th at 7:00 P.M. to see the mural and tour the classrooms.  It's going to be a great event!

Next week, on Wednesday, April 4th at 7:00 P.M. at Madison High School, The Madison Visual and Performing Arts Department in collaboration with Madison Music and Arts is hosting the "Arts Matter."  Faculty and staff will be performing and showcasing artwork, so don't miss it!  More information is included below.

On Thursday, April 5th, we will celebrate the next stop in our reading challenge, Hollywood!  The third graders read enough chapters to get our school bus to California.  Wear your best movie star sunglasses next week.  Maybe you'll get to walk the red carpet!

There are a limited amount of tickets left to the Harlem Wizards game on Thursday, April 5th.  Please see the attachment for more information.

    Instructional Corner:
Congratulations to our fourth grade students and teachers on an amazing living wax museum event this past week.  Students researched a historical figure and brought that person to life by delivering engaging oral presentations.  I was really impressed with the level of preparation on the part of the students and their ability to summarize the key points of a person's life, all why making eye contact, and with no electronic device!  The nervousness and heavy breathing subsided after the students had the first couple of go-arounds.  Promoting public speaking is an opportunity for students to continue developing leadership skills, increase self-confidence, strengthen organizational skills, and increase vocabulary acquisition.  Thank you to the fourth grade teaching team for your leadership on this project.
