     Course Description:

    Students in Algebra 1 continue their study of patterns and relationships, formalizing their knowledge, learning to use symbolic notation and connecting their understandings to the real world.

    Units of study will include:

    • linear equations and inequalities
    • linear, absolute value, quadratic and exponential functions
    • systems of equations and inequalities
    • polynomials
    • radicals
    • data analysis

    The curriculum is aligned the Common Core Standards for Mathematics and encourages all learners to take an active part in meeting the goals outlined below.

    Late Work and Make-up 

    Late work and make up work will be accepted, however points will be lost depending on how late the work is.  If there is a family problem such as illness or any other emergency that prevents on-time completion of an assignment, please notify me immediately by e-mail or by a telephone call to the MHS office.  Students should talk to me about missed work within two days of returning to school. 


    Teacher Availability

    I am available for extra help before or after school and during common lunch every day in the B16 office.  Please let me know what is convenient for you and I will set up a time and place to meet.
