Meets BCD Days

  • Essential Question: What challenges does the student face at home, school, community, and/or workplace? This course is designed to provide the opportunity to develop skills and a foundation of knowledge in order to be as independent as possible. 

     

     

    All students should:

    come to class on time.

    participate.

    complete their homework.

    give their best effort in all activities.

     

     

    Prevocational Group

     

    Topics include skills/interests, inventories of likes/dislikes, why having a job is important, personal information, soft skills, and career exploration.  Students will participate in work tasks within the building to increase their work-related repertoire.

     

    Social Skills

     

    Topics include conversational skills, personal information, soft skills, problem solving skills, and body language.  

     

    Homework given on an as needed basis.  Students will be instructed to write it down wherever they keep track of assignments.

     

    Community Based Instruction:

    Various trips planned throughout year so concepts taught during class can be generalized in the community
