Congratulations to our fourth graders on a successful wax museum today! The students proudly displayed their research and oral speaking skills in an interactive format. I would be remiss if I did not thank our dedicated fourth grade team, Ms. Kennedy, Mrs. Lade, Mr. Stricchiola, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Babich for facilitating this project for the students. Well done!
Next week is Autism Awareness Week. There are a lot of great activities planned and a school-wide celebration on World Autism Day, Tuesday, April 2nd, also known as "Light it up Blue Day." All students are encouraged to wear blue - be as creative as you'd like! As a school community, we want to teach our students about ASD (autism spectrum disorder) and celebrate the unique talents of those with autism. Most importantly, we want to encourage acceptance, appreciation, and self-determination.
As we enter into the spring months, we begin to think about the end of this school year and thoughts shift to the next. A lot of planning and preparation goes into scheduling and class placement. Please refer to the attached letter to better understand how such decisions are made.
