Allison Stager, Principal, Torey J. Sabatini School
Mrs. Stager joined Madison as Principal of Torey J. Sabatini School in 2016. She is thrilled to serve such a vibrant community that values education. Mrs. Stager believes that Torey J. is rooted in a rich history of academic excellence and she is committed to maintaining high levels of achievement and growth, as well as helping students grow from a social/emotional standpoint. As elementary schools must constantly adapt to the changing needs of young learners, Mrs. Stager works collaboratively the the dedicated staff, students, and community to ensure all voices are heard and reflected in programming decisions.
Prior to joining the Madison administrative team, she spent three years as Director of Curriculum and Instruction in the Moonachie School District (K-8) in Bergen county. During those years, Mrs. Stager had the fortunate opportunity to participate in every facet of school operations. Building an RTI model, establishing data teams, implementing several new academic initiatives such as robotics, STEAM, and an integrated art and music enrichment program were some of the high points. Additionally, she managed the curricular budget, oversaw day to day operations, and served as the Interim Superintendent/Principal. She also taught third grade for a decade in Lincoln Park, where her desire to affect student achievement on a larger scale led her to pursue an administrative position. Deeply knowledgeable in elementary instructional practices and committed to supporting elementary teachers in their demanding roles, her primary professional goal was to become an elementary principal. Having grown up in Chatham and Basking Ridge, she has great familiarity with the area and, in a way, feels like she's coming home each day.
Mrs. Stager holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from Providence College, a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Caldwell University, as well as several certifications. She resides in Lincoln Park with her husband and two daughters. When she's not at TJS, she enjoys reading, traveling, and most of all being a mom and spending time with her family.
