• The students were quite busy this week with all the "Safe Schools" activities.  A big thank you to Mrs. Bletcher for her hard work in organizing these programs.  Additionally, the PTO brought "A Journey Through Mexico" to TJS, as part of their cultural enrichment programs.  The students enjoyed learning about Mexico's history through song and dance.


    Halloween is finally here!  Those students choosing to dress up are encouraged to come to school in costume to enjoy the day.  Costumes should be school appropriate (in-line with dress code expectations) and all hair and makeup preparation should be done prior to school.  If a costume is bulky or itchy, please have your child wear clothing underneath, so that the costume can be removed easily.  Students who choose to dress in costume may not bring any item to school that depicts violence such as plastic or fake weapons (swords, guns, knives, pitchforks, etc.), bloody or gory masks, or any sharp objects. Due to supervisory constraints, we cannot allow students to change into costumes during lunch periods.  


    If you choose to pick up your child at lunch to go home and change, the recess/lunch schedule is as follows:  


    Grades 1, 2 & 3:  11:20 A.M. - 12:10 P.M.

    Grades K, 4, & 5:  11:55 A.M. - 12:45 P.M.


    Please notify the main office/teacher in advance of picking up and sign your child out at the start of the period and return to school by the end of the period.


    The costume parade will begin at 2:15 P.M. on Thursday, October 31st.  All families are invited to attend.  Please proceed directly to the back of the school that day.  You do not need to check-in with the main office.  The marching band will lead the students up the path, so we ask you assemble around the perimeter of the field.  Pathways should be kept clear so that everyone can have a great view of all our little goblins.  Students will re-enter the building after the parade and be dismissed at 3:15 P.M.  That gives you enough time to grab a cup of coffee prior to trick-or-treating that evening!  As a special incentive to get students out of bed Friday morning, we will have Pajama Day at TJS.

    Our International Club will be hosting a Dinner in the Jaguar Jungle TONIGHT: Friday, October 25th from 7pm-9pm. Please come and taste some of the wonderful food, learn more about each other’s cultures, and celebrate all the diverse cultures at Torey J. Sabatini. Please note ingredients will be listed but this is NOT an allergy free event.



    TJS will be hosting the annual Book Fair on November 20th, 21st, & 23rd. All the information and details are attached. Please Volunteer to help set up/take down the book fair, or help students pick books using this link: TJS Book Fair Volunteer Sign Up 


    Students... get creative and design posters for the 2019 Book Fair! See the attached flyer for more information. The deadline for submission is November 8th.


    SAVE THE DATE! On Saturday November 23rd the TJS PTO is sponsoring a family fun run/walk. The event will start and finish at Torey J, just in time for all of the special events at the book fair.


    Great Job with the Read-A-Thon TJS! Collectively we have read 88,438 minutes, 245 students have participated so far, and over 400 sponsors are supporting you as you read.

    Mrs. Gambino's class has the most student participation, Mrs. Caruso's class has read the most with 13,709 minutes, and Ms. Robertson's class has raised the most money with $1673.

    Keep up the great work! You have until Wednesday October 30th to log those minutes!


    Don’t forget to submit your order form for pizza on specified ½ days of school! We are accepting orders until November 1, 2019. Form attached.
