Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Smith

I am so excited for this school year!  I can't wait to get to know you all.

I grew up in the nearby township of Jefferson.  I went to the University of Rhode Island and earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and mathematics. In college, I was a teacher’s assistant and tutor for various college mathematics courses. At URI, I was a part of the Honors Program, as well as Kappa Delta Pi International Honors Society in Education.  I also had the pleasure of student teaching wonderful fifth graders at Metcalf Elementary School in Exeter, RI.  Recently, I taught third and fourth grade at Arthur Stanlick School in Jefferson Township Public Schools.

When I'm not teaching, I love to read on the beach, go to the gym and go for rides on my boat.  In the winter, I love to ski and enjoy the beautiful, snow-covered mountains.  I have a golden retriever dog, Sunny, who I like to take for walks and spoil at the time!

I am very eager to join Madison Public Schools and inspire students to become life-long learners.  I look forward to having a fun and engaging year!
