• FRESHMAN FIRST AID/CPR/AED

     

    Students will follow the American Red Cross course during their health class. They will learn the basics of First Aid as well as learn how to perform correct CPR technique and how to use an AED machine. The course will include theory as well as practical classes. If the students complete the course and can peform successfully in the final practical simulation test, they will be certified as a qualified American Red Cross responder. The certificate will allow to say to employers that they are qualified and trained in First Aid, CPR and AED use.

    ASSESSMENT

     

    Students will take 4 AMERICAN RED CROSS quizzes related to the above topics. Students will also take a final practical test for certification..Students must score 80 or more on each quiz to receive certification. The American Red Cross also charges a $10 certification fee.

     

    Class Conduct (50 points)
     
    5 points can be deducted off the Conduct grade for the following
     
    Late to Class             Cutting Class        Cell Phone use           Improper use of bathroom/hallway pass
    Class disruption         Insubordination    Non participation in class activities
