• Happy Friday!

As an environmentally friendly reminder and since we are going increasingly green, please be mindful of car idling. Please see the attached notice which includes some helpful idling tips!

Please be mindful of our morning drop off procedures. As you know, Torey J. has a very small parking lot with little room for cars to pass once the parking spaces are full. If you are driving your child to school, we kindly ask that you park your car on a side street and walk your student to the door. If you need to "stop and go," please drop your child off on Woodland Road in front of the board office to follow the sidewalk to the school. Please cooperate with and follow the instructions of the crossing guards posted on Glenwild Road, Green Village Road, and Woodland Road.

Torey J is hosting a four week long Girl's Leadership Workshop designed for 4th and 5th grade girls and their parents. Topics include, assertive self expression, emotional intelligence at home, owning our mistakes and creating a road map for conflict. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

    STEAM Update from Ms. D'Amico
The new STEAM space at Torey J has officially opened. Starting Wednesday, students were able to engage in the space for both technology and STEAM classes. STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses aspects of science, technology, engineering, art, and math to guide students in inquiry and critical thinking. The space was designed to meet the needs of all students while providing the best possible learning environment. We have included numerous flexible seating options which will allow students to work comfortably throughout the space while finding the seat that helps them work best. My hope for this space is that it allows students greater freedom and flexibility to imagine, create and work together! Attached are some pictures of the new space!

I am also currently in the process of creating a Lego Wall in our new space. This will give students a place to express their creativity in a very different way! If you have any old legos around the house that you would be willing to donate to our space, please send them in with your student in a Ziploc bag labeled Ms. D'Amico. This would be greatly appreciated! Please contact me at damicom@madisonnjps.org if you have any questions.

    Looking to Volunteer

Please reach out to presidents.tjspto@gmail.com. We need 2-3 wonderful parent volunteers to run the bracelet & ticket sales for the Jamboree in June. This is a great job for someone who is organized & detail oriented. You can partner with someone who is usually at pick up so they can sell the week before the event.

    Have a wonderful weekend!
