If you are thinking of asking me for a letter of recommendation, then you must think I have something positive to say about you. You probably got good grades in my class. Right? Well, that is terrific, but a college can tell that from looking at your transcript. Plus, you probably got good grades in other classes, too. You want my letter to be special. So, think about why you picked me. There had to be something else to it: your career goal, a feeling of a kindred spirit, your genuine love for the course, whatever.
Help me maximize the effectiveness of my letter by providing me with some more information. The more insight you can give me about yourself, the more effective I can make my letter of support for you, so think about each question, and answer each one as best as you can.
