Grading Policy: Your grade will be determined by your performance on tests, quizzes, labs/activities, projects, homework, and classwork. Each assignment will be worth a number of points based on difficulty.
Makeup Work Policy: If you are absent, any work that had been assigned before your absence and was due while you were out is due the day you return. When you return to school, please check the “While You Were Out” folder for paper copies of assignments you have missed and Google Classroom for all other assignments and test reviews. Tests, quizzes, and labs/activities will NOT be made up during class time. Please see Mrs. Lieu to schedule them for before or after school or during lunch or study hall. You will have the number of days you were out to make up the work you missed. Please email Mrs. Lieu if you know in advance that you will be absent.
Late Work: Assignments will be considered late if they are not handed in at the beginning of the period they are due or at the designated time. Late assignments for reasons other than absence will receive a maximum of half credit. Madison High School homework, late work, and makeup policies will be followed.
Classroom Behavior: In this class and at all times at Madison High School, you are expected to treat teachers and each other with respect. During labs, lab safety procedures must be followed at all times. Violations of lab safety procedures will result in removal from lab and a zero for the assignment.
Emergency bathroom trips will be allowed at all times, but in general, trips to the bathroom should not take place during the first or last five minutes of class or when the teacher is giving directions or notes.
Cell phones should be placed in the designated container at the beginning of class and should not be retrieved until you are directed to do so by the teacher.
Discipline policies will be followed as outlined in the Student Handbook.
Teacher Availability: I am available for extra help before school, after school, and during lunch. Please speak with me either in person or via email to set up a time to meet. I want you to succeed, and I look forward to a great school year with you!
