The district has been notified that a member of the Madison Junior School community has tested positive for COVID-19. It is important to note that the individual has not been present in the school building since October 26, 2020.
Please be advised that the Madison Health Department is currently notifying any potential close contacts within the school community and is collaborating with Madison Schools to ensure that quarantine and isolation rules are being properly followed.
Community members should be aware that these individuals and any other affected individuals will not be physically present in school until they meet NJDOH criteria for return. For reasons of privacy, the school will not be providing class-level or individual-level notifications regarding this matter.
Considering the recent cases in our schools and the rising transmission rate in NJ, please increase your diligence in the following safety procedures:
Avoid unnecessary exposure to others
Do not share items with others, especially food and drink
Maintain six feet of distance when barriers are not present
Wear a mask whenever outside your home
Wash and sanitize your hands, regularly
Avoid touching your face
If you do not feel well, stay home
If you believe you may have been exposed to COVID19, notify the school and the Madison Health Department, immediately, and get tested
If you have any questions or concerns regarding COVID19 and our schools, please contact your child's principal, school nurse, or Assistant Superintendent Dr. Frank Santora at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Together, we can keep our community safe and stay Madison Strong.
