• Please be sure to complete the necessary medical forms – either the Athletic Pre-Participation form - which is required by the state before participation (this should be filled out by your physician), or the Health History update form. These are available on Nurse Skordinsky's page: https://www.madisonpublicschools.org/Page/385For each sport in which a child registers, new medical forms must be submitted. Depending on the date of the child's last physical, either the short update form or the full physical form needs to be turned in.

    Fall: Boys Soccer (grades 7 and 8), Girls Soccer (grades 6-8), Field Hockey (grades 6-8), Cross Country (grades 6-8).

    Registration period - May 26 - Aug. 1

    Season - start of school through late October


    Early Winter: Boys Basketball (grades 6, 7 and 8), Girls Basketball (grades 6, 7 and 8).

    Approximate dates:

    Registration period - early - mid October

    Season - approx. first week in Nov. - first week in feb.

    Late Winter: Boys Volleyball (grades 6, 7 and 8),  Girls Volleyball (grades 7 and 8).

    Approximate dates:

    Registration period - mid-Dec. - early January

    Season - approx. Feb. 1 through mid- March

    Spring: Boys Lacrosse (grades 7 and 8), Girls Lacrosse (grades 6, 7 and 8), and Girls Softball (grades 6-8).

    MJSAO Information
    Madison Junior School Athletic Organization
    The Madison Junior School Athletic Organization (MJSAO) is a parent-coordinated effort to offer middle school students an opportunity to play competitive sports and compete against other local middle school teams. This Board of Education sanctioned group functions under the umbrella of the school district and administration.  There is a volunteer Board that organizes the athletic offerings.


    Coaches are all non-parent professionals, many if not all are Madison School District teachers/staff.  Public meetings of the MJSAO will take place during the year and will be advertised for anyone in the community to attend. Newcomers are always welcome.  Please go to www.mjsdodgers.org for more information.


    Each teams’ information regarding tryouts and or eligibility will be posted on the website a month or two before the first team event. Please check back frequently.  Email blasts will also communicate upcoming sport specific information with regards to registration.


    Each team meets a maximum of three times per week for practices and games.  Some practices are held at school while others are off-site at local parks.  Parents are responsible for getting their child to all off site practices and games.


    Any athlete making a team will be required to pay a participation fee to cover all team expenses such as coaches’ salary, uniform costs, officials’ cost, and equipment costs. Parents are expected to volunteer to carpool students to games.
