Art is the window to a man's soul. Without it, he would never be able to see beyond his immediate world;nor could the world see the man within." - Lady Bird JohnsonWelcome to Mrs. St. Jacques' PageI am very excited to begin my fifth year in the Madison School District. I have spent many summer days setting up our classroom and cannot wait to meet you! I have three sons myself; very close to your ages so I can relate to how you feel as the school year approaches. I hope you will think of my classes as a release from the stresses of ever day life as busy teenagers.I will continue teaching Three Dimensional Design, Advanced 3-D Design, Fine Art Digital Imaging (Photography), Alternative Imaging Techniques (Advanced Photography), Ceramics, and Advanced Ceramics.
It is always my priority to guide you to achieve your highest potential while fostering independent thinking skills that will benefit you in all aspects of life. Through art, you are free to create and express who you are now while discovering who you hope to become. Like the world, art is ever evolving and can be interpreted differently by all who view it. With this freedom of expression, comes an acceptance of the unique interpretations and executions of others’ work. Art facilitates a journey of self-discovery while fostering an appreciation of collaboration. Creating and critiquing works of art yields higher levels of analysis and deeper levels of thinking and reflection. Art exploration on the whole will enhance your cognitive development, while expanding upon language development bridging skills between the visual and verbal. Art is truly a universal language that allows for communication and acceptance by all.
I can't wait to kick off a great school year and get to know you!
