• Madison Junior School PTO

    Dear MJS Families,

As we enter the second part of the school year, we want to tell you about all the things the PTO has been up to.

The beginning of the year started with 2 great student assemblies. Jared Campbell entertained all the grades with his positive messages about resiliency, friendship and self-confidence.  John Marshall brought his mobile weather studio to MJS and not only did the kids learn about weather from a tv meteorologist, but got to experience the weather casting technology first hand!

The PTO continues to support the How we Roll Program, which acknowledges students for acts of kindness. We supported the team-building day with pizza and ice cream for the 7th graders and snacks for the 6th graders. In addition, the 6th graders were treated to a fun and action packed social to kick off the school year. The 7th and 8th graders enjoyed an upgraded Halloween social. Planning is underway for the Spring Social, which will be held March 8th, and our 8th grade Chairs are busy planning the dance, breakfast and promotion ceremony.

Many thanks to our Hospitality Committee for working throughout the year providing lunches and snacks for our hard at work faculty and staff.

As you know, we are in the process of raising funds for our MJS mural!!! Thanks to grants from the MEF and MMA and your generosity, the students and staff are working on themes and ideas for the mural. All students and parent volunteers will be involved in this entire process and we all look forward to painting in October 2019! Thanks to Jaime Conroy and Kris Kelly for spearheading this project.

Coming soon:  Coming Up For AIR Presentation- Tricia Baker and her therapy dogs will be visiting our 8th graders for a mental health education program. Tricia will be meeting with the students in small groups and will be hosting a parent presentation as well. Be on the lookout for more information to come.

Of course, we can’t do any of this without your help and support! We are grateful to all of our volunteers and families for your time, energy and generosity

We have lots more to do, and we still need you!

We are sorry to say that less than 50% of our families have paid dues. It’s never too late to send them in!!! Not sure if you’ve paid? No problem, reach out to Sue Han suehan00@gmail.com to find out!
