• TJS PTO Update

    President's Message - April 2020

Hello TJS Community! We hope you are doing well and adjusting to this new way of living/learning that will be with us for a while. While we are away from school, we wanted to take a minute to reach out and check in and update you on a few PTO items.

First, thank you so much to those of you who came to celebrate our TJS 50th anniversary party on March 7th, what a fun evening! We are so glad everyone was able to socialize just before going into “social distancing”. At this point in time, we are hopeful that many of the parties you signed up for will occur at a later date, obviously, when we are through with social distancing. It’ll be a much needed reconnect with friends after all this is over! Many of the parties will be moved to later dates, probably over the summer and fall. We are still working through scheduling and will update you as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it looks like we will most likely need to cancel the majority of teacher outings. We will confirm this once we know the status of the balance of the school year.

After School Enrichment for the Spring was just beginning and unfortunately will be canceled, even if we do go back to school in May or June. We will issue refunds for these programs. Those families who were enrolled will be contacted separately about ASE refunds.

We are beginning to fill PTO positions for the 2020-21 school year. We need your help!! Please consider giving your time to help bring all of the amazing PTO programs into our school that our children enjoy so much. We cannot do it without you!

Finally, we would like to thank the Madison School district, specifically the Torey J teachers and staff, for their dedication and hard work getting remote learning up and running so quickly. After speaking with parents in school districts across the country, we are quite lucky to live in this town! Madison really hit the ground running with direction and purpose for distance learning. There have been bumps along the way with technology and getting used to this new way of teaching and learning, but all in all it has been a very successful couple of weeks. We are confident it will only become more seamless and fruitful as we continue. Please remember to be kind and thank your children’s teachers along the way.  We are all in this together, every single long solitary day :), please let us know if we can help or if you need anything!!

    Stay safe and healthy everyone!

    All the best,

    Amanda & Sarah
