MHS advanced art students, under the leadership of their teacher Mrs. Heather Sokolowski, participated in "The Memory Project" - an initiative that invites art students to help cultivate global kindness by creating portraits for children around the world who have faced substantial challenges, such as violence, war, or extreme poverty.
This is the 6th year in a row Mrs. Sokolowski and her students have participated in "The Memory Project." Previous work has been completed for children in Madagascar, India, Cambodia and Syrian refugee children in Jordan who fled their homes due to violence.
The students who participated are: Alexandra Artigliere, James Ciriello, Samantha DeRosa, Julia Ferranti, Collin Flanagan, Lucciana Happe, Caleb Kosinksi, Chloe Mandala, Kelly Phillips, Giovanna Rafanello, Luke Raymaker, Amanda Smith, Rose ("Eden") Summerlin, and Samantha Sullivan
