Leslie Lajewski

Leslie has been a member of the Madison Board of Education since January 2014. Since January 2018, she has served as the Board President. During her time on the Board, Leslie has served on the Human Resources Committee, Negotiations Committee, Operations Committee, Policy Committee, and Shared Services. She has also served on several ad hoc hiring committees and the 2015 Strategic Planning Committee.

Leslie has lived in Madison since 1997 and has two children. Her older son graduated from Madison High School in 2018. Her younger son is currently a junior at Madison High School.

Leslie holds a BA in English and BS in Political Science from Seton Hall University and a JD from Seton Hall School of Law. She has over 25 years’ experience in labor and employment law, and represents management in employee-related areas including discrimination and harassment claims and litigation before State and Federal agencies and courts; counseling, training and drafting of employment contracts, policies and manuals; labor negotiations and arbitrations; mergers, reorganizations and reductions in force; and State and Federal wage and hour and OFCCP audits. Leslie is currently a Staff Attorney with Day Pitney LLP.

During her time in Madison, Leslie has been an active volunteer in the community, including as Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer of the CAS PTO and the chairperson of a number of CAS PTO fundraising events. Leslie has been commissioner with the Downtown Development Commission since 2016.
