Dodger parents and students,
It's great to be back with all of you in this new and hopeful year.
Thank you all for your reliability and commitment to the safe operation of our schools. We are very proud to be able to continue in-person learning so quickly. Please join me in thanking our faculty and staff for their professionalism and diligence, and continue to ensure that you and your family engage in safe behaviors. We can see a little light at the end of the tunnel, so let's finish strong.
The regional CALI report remains "high" with rates now trending toward "moderate."
For the first time in months, the rates have begun to decrease. Case rates impacting the district have also declined. Hopefully this is a permanent trend.
Please keep in mind that individuals travelling outside of NJ, NY, DE, PA and CT must quarantine for 10 days.
Regardless of whether or not an individual takes a test with a negative result, the school will require a quarantine period of 10 days. This is the most cautious approach and will provide the greatest protection to our staff and students.
New Chromebooks have been distributed K-12.
Thank you to our technology team and administrative staff for their work in getting these new units out to students in time for the new year! Please note that the retired Chromebooks will serve as home devices for elementary students, as well as sources for replacements and spare parts. This should reduce repair costs, improve device longevity, and reduce the weight of elementary student backpacks. We hope that the new Chromebooks help 2021 to feel fresh and exciting for students.
Best wishes for a new year of health and wellness. May we all stay Madison Strong together. I look forward to seeing you all again soon.
