As this Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, it is with great excitement and honor to announce Madison High School’s 2025 Teacher and Educational Service Professional of the Year. We are pleased to share that Mr. Jeff Coviello, Technology Teacher, has been selected as the MHS Teacher of the Year and Ms. Sarah Mazak, School Counselor, has been selected as our MHS Educational Service Professional of the Year. On behalf of the Madison High School community, I want to extend my gratitude to both Mr. Coviello and Ms. Mazak for their dedication and commitment to the students and families of MHS. We are grateful for everything they do each and every day! Thank you to all that took the time to submit nominations.

Day of Service & Senior Meeting
9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will participate in the Day of Service on Thursday, May 22nd. 12th graders will have their end of year senior meeting with Mr. Drechsel in the auditorium. For those unfamiliar with the day, on the Day of Service all students and staff take a break from classes to participate in a service project. Please click this link for a list of various service projects being offered. Students have been assigned projects based upon their preferences and will be meeting with project leaders on Thursday, May 15th during the support period to get more information.

Exciting News for the MHS Theatre Program
The MHS Theatre Program received several nominations and honorable mentions in the 2025 Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Awards for this year’s musical production of “Sister Act”. Student nominations included:
Outstanding Performance By a Featured Ensemble Member - Sophie Santoriello as “TJ”
Student Achievement Award - Daania Fakhar, Assistant Lighting Director
The production also earned nominations for Outstanding Lighting Achievement, Outstanding Costume Achievement, and “Theatre for Everyone” Inclusion & Access Award. Winners will be announced in June. Good luck!
Achievements & Recognitions
Junior Eva Errichetti was one of 50 students whose submission was chosen out of a total of 450 for the inaugural high school photography magazine at Rowan University.
Congratulations to our Boys Golf Team who claimed the South Jersey, Group I Section Championship on May 5th at Cream Ridge Golf Club. Alex Patel shot a 3-under 69 while Blake Steele (77), Andrew Schiller (79), Theo Bruns (80), and Teo Bengtsson (80) rounded out the scoring.
Our Spring Track & Field teams continue to break records. At the Morris County Relays the men’s team claimed the Small School Division Championship and records were set in the three man long jump relay (Kyle Desrivieres, AJ Eldridge, and Jake Witte - 58’ 6.5), three man triple jump (Kyle Desrivieres, Jake Witte, and Rohan Tucker - 124’ 8.75) and distance medley relay (Clotilde Monville, Isabella Bolstad, Manuela Ribeiro and Maya Van Horn - 12:44.47). At the NJAC East Meet records fell in the 4x100 meter relay (Diara Ricketts, Alana Flynn, Ava Fass, and Leah Fass - 50.90) and the 200 meter dash (Rohan Tucker - 21.60).
In lacrosse, Mallory Dineen (100 career points), Sarah Kate Preston (100 career goals), and Colin Byam (300 face off wins) all reached milestones over the last week.
