2025-2026

Principal Welcome Back Letter

FAQ:

When does school start in 25-26?

School begins on September 4, 2025. As we get closer to the start of school, we will send a calendar with all pertinent dates related to CAS. The district calendar can be found here!

What is the "Meet and Greet," and when will it take place?

The "Meet and Greet" is an opportunity for families to meet their new teacher, see the classroom, and walk through opening day procedures, such as where to line up, location of the bathrooms, etc. This is NOT a time to confer with the teacher. We also recommend dropping off your school supplies on this day. The date is tentatively scheduled for September 3, 2025, from 2:00-3:00 PM.

Are supplies needed, and where can I find the list?

Yes, we ask students to bring certain school supplies on the first day of school. The list can be found here: Class Supply Lists for 25-26 (1st Day Sale ends June 30)

Does the district have required Elementary Summer Assignments?

No, we do not mandate summer assignments, but we highly suggest students work on skills so that they do not engage in "Summer Slide". These assignments can be found here: District Summer Assignments

Is there a summer reading program?

The district has listed assignments, which can be found in the link above, but our local library also has a wonderful summer reading program. This program can be found here: Madison Library Summer Reading Program

How can parents/guardians help with reading loss during the summer months?

Please look at our summer assignments, get involved in the Madison Library Summer Reading Program, and look over these tips: Ways for Parents/Guardians to Help Summer Reading Loss

Are there any other skills my child should work on over the summer?

We would recommend playdates, book clubs, and other ways for them to socialize and engage in friendships: Summer Social Skills Practice

We would also recommend they work on writing, shoe tying, and other skills: Occupational Therapist Hand Strengthening Exercises
