The final day of the first marking period is Thursday, November 13th. Report Cards will be made available on the Genesis Parent Portal on Tuesday, November 25th. Those seniors who wish to submit their first marking period report card to colleges they have applied to must complete the linked form. Those unsure if they should request submission should consult their counselor before submitting the form. Midyear transcripts will automatically be sent to schools that students have applied to.
Recognitions
The MHS Athletics Department will host a Division I National Signing Day on Wednesday, November 12th in the Madison High School Media Center. Congratulations to seniors Sophia Christoffers (Binghamton - Volleyball), Anna Gominiak (Dartmouth - Soccer), Matthew Lutz (Utah - Lacrosse), Callum Regan (Drexel - Lacrosse), and Christopher Vaughan (Lafayette - Baseball) who will sign their National Letter of Intents to play at the next level!
Congratulations to senior Hudson Flemming who was honored by the Super Football Conference on October 24th as the Steve DiGregorio Young Man of the Year Award Winner for his selfless commitment to his community, school, and teammates!
Several of our fall athletic teams have earned honors for their efforts in the regular season. Congratulations to our Field Hockey, Boys Soccer, and Girls Soccer teams who captured NJAC Liberty Division Regular Season Conference Titles and Girls Volleyball who earned a share of the division with Hackettstown. Field Hockey also took down West Morris in the Morris County Tournament Final after a nine round shootout to earn the title of Morris County Champions.
The Marching Dodgers took home some hardware in their two biggest performances of the season. At the Ludwig Musser Classic at MetLife Stadium, the Dodgers earned first place out of ten bands including being named best percussion, music, and visual. Two weeks later at state championships in Robbinsville, the Dodgers finished third out of ten teams in the A-Group IV Division.
Fall Drama
On November 14th and 15th, the Madison High School Dramatic Dodgers are excited to present “Blithe Spirit". All performances will be held in the John H. Bunnell Auditorium at Madison High School. Key Club Students Change Hunger Food Drive
Nearly 1.1 million New Jersey residents face food insecurity — including over 270,000 children. That means 1 in 7 kids in our state doesn’t know where their next meal is coming from. Since 2020, 430,000 more people have become food insecure — a 65% increase overall and 54% among children. But together, we can turn hunger into hope. The Madison High School Key Club is proud to host our 8th Annual Students Change Hunger Food Drive, supporting the Interfaith Food Pantry and Community FoodBank of New Jersey. American Mathematics Competition (AMC) Registration
The AMC 10B competition (for 9th and 10th graders) and the AMC 12B competition (for 11th and 12th graders) will take place on Thursday, November 13th at 2:05 pm. Each competition is 75 minutes and contains 25 multiple questions. Students who score well on the contest will be invited to participate in the next round of the competition which consists of taking the American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME). Students must complete the linked form if they are interested in participating. Linked here are practice questions for the AMC 10 and the AMC 12. Additional questions can be directed to Ms. Bosworth.
Paying for College Presentation
The MHS Guidance Department invites Madison High School families to a virtual webinar, “The Little-Known Secrets of Paying for College” presented by The College Funding Coach on Wednesday, November 12th at 6:30 PM via Zoom. The interactive workshop will provide college funding strategies for families with students who may or may not qualify for financial aid. For more information and to register, please click this link.
Winter Meet the Coaches Night
Mr. Scheifler and the Madison High School Athletic Department will host a Winter Meet the Coaches Night on Wednesday, November 19th at 6:30 pm in the Madison High School Auditorium. Parents of winter athletes will have an opportunity to meet their child’s coach and hear about the upcoming season.
AP Exam Payments
Any student enrolled in an AP class, should have received a join code from their AP teacher to join their AP Classroom. Students should log into their College Board account to make sure they see all of their AP classes listed. All students enrolled in an AP class must sit for the AP exam. All payments are due by December 23rd. Head to the guidance department webpage for directions on how to make an AP payment through Arbiter. Alternative Device Fair & Parenting in a Digital World
Dodgers Delay is hosting an Alternative Device Fair & Discussion About Parenting in a Digital World on Wednesday, November 12th at Madison Junior School. Representatives and/or devices from 8 companies that offer smart phone alternatives including phones, watches, and landlines will be in attendance. In addition to the fair, parents will join a panel discussion led by parents and community members about practical tips and practices for tech use in our homes. Children can attend the tech fair and then are welcome to join the Cub Scouts in the cafeteria for some screen-free fun activities.
