Registration for the 2026-2027 Winter Athletic season is now open in the Genesis Parent Portal. Any student interested in playing a winter sport must register. After signing into Genesis, parents/guardians will find the “Comprehensive Winter Athletic Registration Form” in the “forms” section.
Physical examinations that athletes used for the fall season are not necessarily valid for the winter season and may need to be updated. The date of your athlete’s physical must be within 365 days of the start of the first practice for the sport. For a point of reference:
Bowling, Ice Hockey, Swimming - Valid physicals should have a date of 11/16/25 or later
Basketball & Wrestling - Valid physicals should have a date of 11/23/25 or later
Winter Track & Cheerleading - Valid physicals should have a date of 11/30/25 or later
*Only the completed Medical Eligibility Form should be uploaded and submitted as part of the registration process. This form is required for any student athlete who did not participate in a fall sport or whose physical from the fall season has expired. Those students whose physicals have not yet expired from the fall season, do not need to resubmit the form. The Medical Eligibility Form provides space for the healthcare provider to share relevant health information with the school if necessary and includes a recommendation regarding the student's ability to participate in athletics. It is important to note that the PPE must be conducted by a licensed physician, advanced practice nurse, or physician assistant who has completed the student athlete cardiac assessment professional development module developed by the NJDOE.
The deadline to register and ensure that students are cleared by our school physician is Friday, October 30th.
Madison Board of Education Policy #2436, Activity Participation Fee Program, requires each pupil in grades nine through twelve participating in a school-sponsored athletic or co-curricular activity to pay a participation fee. The fee is $150 per year, with a family cap of $300 and covers unlimited access to all sports and extracurricular activities throughout the duration of the 26-27 school year. The fee can be paid on the PaySchools Portal after your student is registered for their winter sport in Genesis. Please allow for 24-hours for the fee to be applied to your account after registration. If the fee has already been paid from the fall season, no additional payment is required.

In addition, please be mindful that the majority of our winter athletic teams will have practices and/or games over winter break, the days between Christmas and New Year’s Days. Please coordinate your plans accordingly.
Winter Meet the Coaches Night is scheduled for Thursday, November 19th. Please reserve the date. More information will be shared closer to the event.
