New Jersey Boys & Girls State Program

American Legion Jersey Boys State (ALJBS) is a prestigious, week-long leadership program designed for high school juniors to experience the practical workings of government firsthand.  Held every summer, delegates step into the roles of local, county, and state officials and run for elected office, draft legislation, participate in political campaigns, and manage mock city governance. Beyond building a strong understanding of civics and public policy, the program offers a dynamic, hands-on environment to develop leadership, public speaking, and teamwork skills while connecting with top student leaders across New Jersey and earning transferable college credits.  11th grade male students can find out more about the program by clicking this link.  If interested, students must complete this Google form.  The deadline is being extended through October 30th.

American Legion Auxiliary Jersey Girls State (ALA JGS) is a premier, week-long civic leadership and governance program held each June for high school junior girls across New Jersey.  Hosted on a college campus, this dynamic "learn-by-doing" experience empowers delegates to step into the roles of self-governing citizens, running mock political campaigns, crafting legislation, electing officials, and debating key public policy issues.  Beyond gaining hands-on insight into local, county, and state government, participants develop strong public speaking and leadership abilities, build lifelong connections with ambitious peers, boost their college applications, and gain eligibility for national recognition through ALA Girls Nation.  11th grade female students can find out more about the program by clicking this link.  If interested, students must complete this Google form.  The deadline is being extended through October 30th.
