Susie Budine, Director of Pupil Personnel Services

Mrs. Susie Budine was appointed as the Director of Pupil Personnel Services in July 2024.  In this role, Mrs. Budine oversees the Special Services department, Section 504, home instruction and nursing.  She also serves as the Harassment Intimidation and Bullying District Coordinator, the McKinney Vento homeless and displaced family liaison and the educational stability liaison.  Mrs. Budine collaborates with the district Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) as well.

Prior to joining the Madison School District, Mrs. Budine served in teaching and administrative roles throughout her career, almost exclusively in the area of special education.  She started as a special education teacher, providing direct instruction and support to students with an IEP in both in and out of district placements.  She has also held positions at the building and district level supporting special education and related areas.  Mrs. Budine’s background has enabled her to gain experience and skills in many areas including program development, emotional and behavioral supports for students, community based instruction, transition programming, child study team supports and legal topics related to special education and Section 504.

In preparation for her career in education, Mrs. Budine earned Bachelor’s degrees in Elementary and Special Education from Kutztown University, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership in Urban Settings from New Jersey City University and completed her School Leadership internship with Kean University.  She holds New Jersey Elementary Education, Teacher of the Handicapped, Supervisor, Principal and School Leader certifications.

Outside of work, Mrs. Budine enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, going to the movies and traveling.  She and her husband have two children and are excited to welcome their first grandchild later this year.
