Standard Certificates – New Jersey Residents:

• Applicants in approved teacher education programs should complete the application through their college or university. Applications are available at the College Certification Office.

• Applicants for Alternate Route (Provisional Teacher Program) If you have not completed teacher preparation in a traditional college program, application for certification should be made through Office of Licensing and Academic Credentials, NJ State Department of Education, CN 500, Trenton, NJ 08625.

Out-of-State Residents:

• Apply through the Office of Licensing and Academic Credentials, NJ State Department of Education, CN 500, Trenton, NJ 08625.

NJ State Substitute Teacher's Certifications:

• Processed via HR at the Madison BOE
